To create an enormous impact on your golf game, you should work to correect your golf swing. If you're looking for the perfect athletic example of angular motion, then golf is your game. Rotation during the swing created tourque, which in turn alters the speed of the club. Most club heads are weighted about the same, so the key to being able to hit the long ball lies in the club head speed. The faster you swing the club, from your rotation, the greater the amount of energy that will be transferred to the ball at the point of impact.
If you take the tour players and break their swings down to the fundamentals such as back swing, impact, and follow through, about 95% of them are doing the same thing. Not all tour player's swing is the same since each does have their own, individual ,style. However, fundamentally their swings are very similar, and if they weren't, they wouldn’t be playing on the tour.
We have taken the golf-swing fundamentals and made them easy for anyone to understand, without all the technical mumbo jumbo.
Tips

Base and Posture- Base and posture are the most important things to master before you try to develop a good gold shot. A solid posture and stance will give you a much more consistent powerful swing. What is the point and having a lot of club head speed, if you don't have a solid base to hold it? A typical driver stance should be a little wider than your shoulder width, and almost everything else should be a little more narrow. The longer the club the further away the ball will be from you. When you stand over that ball you need to have a solid athletic stance. Next time you get over the ball ask yourself, Is this how I would guard someone in basketball? If no then you have a weak stance and posture that will lead to inconsistent shoots and short distance. A good posture should include a correct width stance, slight knee bend, and a back that is not hunched or tense.
A good tip to practice good posture is to take a club and place it down the line of your head, spine, and buttocks. While holding the club with both hands reaching back starting bending forward at your hips. When you feel like your going to tip over stop and give your self a little knee bend. Keep your back and head angled straight as if the club was there, and you should be in the perfect posture.

Alignment- Proper alignment will lead to a consistent swing path, and to more straight golf shots. Alignment is one aspect of golf that is really easy fall out of. When you are not aligned upright your eyes will automatically start to adjust you swing path, making you hit inconsistent shots. By having bad alignment, you will start to fall into bad habits when they could have easily been prevented. A great way to practice alignment is to lay down your clubs or some type of alignment stick to where you are aiming on the driving range.
To work on alignment on the course it is always good to walk behind the ball during your routine and to pick out a target smaller than what you're actually aiming for. Instead of just aiming for the green or the fairway, it is common for people to pick out a target about 10 feet in front of them, or a small target out in the distance.

Swing Plane- Professional golfers think the swing plane is one of the most important golf swing concepts. The swing plane relates to how far, high, and straight the ball can go. The most common thing that amateur golfers face is the big banana slice. This happens because most amateur golfers want to swing hard to hit the ball further, so they do this by swinging hard and across their body. While the wisp of the club may sound very fast swinging this way, there is no other source of power except speed. This starts by the inside rolling take away that leads to their only option of making a outside down swing. Swinging across the ball creates a lot of sidewards spin, which causes the ball to slice. A slice is to the right for a right handed golfer and to the left for a left handed golfer. Pulling the ball is also another common mistake when a golfer comes over the top. Another reason amateur golfers slice the ball is because they don't have the proper foot work and torso turn to get through the ball.
Some tips are making you back swing low and slow to keep your club from rolling inside, and extending your swing out towards the target on your down swing. Place a tee about 2 feet in front of the ball and two feet behind the ball, so you have some visuals to take the club back to and swing out too.

Tempo/Timing- Tempo is the timing of your swing. A consistent smooth tempo will allow you the ability to maximize your distance and accuracy by timing everything up at once. Tempo is easy to get, but even easier to lose. When your tempo is good, you are able to make more aggressive swings and get away with it because the timing of your swing will be on key.
There are many drills that you can work on at the driving range to get your tempo going good: Swing 3/4 swings, Hit a 20 yard pitch and increase each shot by 10 yards, Take your driver and swing 50%, and basically working with any iron and hitting smooth easy swing shots.

Full Turn- To get the distance and consistency that you have always wanted, you need to have a full back swing to load up on a ball. Utilizing your body's turn allows you to not swing as hard as you normally try to.
A full turn with your hips, torso and shoulders needs to be accomplished by keeping your head over the ball and acting as if there is 2x4 stuck on your back leg. This is your pivot point. With this swing thought you will be able to maintain a full rotating back swing that you can load up more power with, without having to swing all out.

Finish- A good finish will get you the distance and consistency you have been looking for. At impact of the golf ball you need to be on the correct plain, rear foot should be flat on the ground or heel barely up driving your lower body through the ball, your body should be right back to being slightly in front of where you started at impact, and your arms and hands should be snapped down tight beginning to rotate through the ball.
To finish a golf swing properly you need to accelerate through the ball, continue the rotation of your body and hands, have 90% of your weight on your front foot, finishing with a stiff recoiled front knee and the shaft of the club wrapped around your ear.

Shaft Fitting Technology- Getting fitted for the proper shaft and lofted clubs can help on your game enormously. Every golfer has a different swing, speed, and trajectory so why should you not have custom fit clubs for your swing? By getting shafts and clubs that are fit for your swing, you will be able to maximize your clubs swing speed and hit more consistent, longer, golf shots.
